A Little Life Update

Hey friends, as you saw yesterday we announced some really big news! I love sharing my life with you guys so I thought it would be fun to give you a little update on everything going on in the Heathcock’s world right now.

Vibrant Church: As of yesterday, we are officially the Student Pastors at Vibrant Church in Fort Worth, a church plant that started a little over a year ago. Some backstory to help connect how God was SO in the midst of this whole thing: I used to lead worship for them when their worship leader was out of town. I would pray that God would bring us to Vibrant because there was something so different about it and I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I found out yesterday that they were praying the same thing, that I would end up at Vibrant too. Nothing short of a year later, we started having conversations about the potential to be the Student Pastors and now it is official! The most exciting part about it is that we will be moving into a BRAND NEW building that someone bought for us soon! Brad and I are so pumped to get back in the youth ministry field and love on these students. That’s so much of our heart and what drew us to one another and we cannot wait!

Rescue Her: I had a lot of questions after mentioning the new position so I wanted to clarify. Brad and I will both still work our normal jobs. I will still be full-time at Rescue Her and He will still be the Athletic Coordinator at Advantage Academy. We both love our jobs so much and the cool thing about where our church is at (just starting out) is that we get to continue our doing the other things we love as well. I don’t plan on leaving Rescue Her anytime soon. This is my dream job and I never thought I would start working it straight out of college, but God is good y’all.

Moving: Yes, we will be moving to the Fort Worth area soon (hopefully.) We have looked at houses, applied for houses, and all of the things. Sadly, nothing has stuck just yet. Our plan is to rent out our house (which is a whole other story) and rent ourselves for a year. Basically, our first year of marriage went nothing like we planned it would and we don’t want to sign ourselves into something just to have to move again. Our hope (keyword “hope”) is that by this time next year, we will have a clearer plan of what the next 5 years will look like and that we will be able to make a more permanent decision. If you’re a person who prays, this is something we would really appreciate prayers for because it’s the only thing that doesn’t seem to be going smoothly. Where we are looking to buy is much closer to the church and my work, and the same distance from brad’s work than where we are now. So it would be a blessing in more ways than one.

I loved reading everyone’s guesses on what the big news was going to be over on my Instagram stories. You guys are the best support and my biggest cheerleaders. I could not be more honored to be a part of such a great community. Brad and I were so moved when we didn’t announce we were pregnant (the most wanted answer) and you guys were still so supportive. I want to make sure you know that I am so thankful for you and sharing my life with you has been nothing short of a blessing to my life.

We are so excited about this new season of our lives. God has been so sweet to us and we love getting to do life and ministry together. We have even more updates to come with all of this and I promise to keep you updated on all of it. What’s something exciting or worth celebrating going on in your world? I want to know!

  1. This is all such exciting news and of course you will have my prayers for a clear vision of your future within this year and that you find they ideal place to call home in the meantime.
Nothing much new in my life but my 3 1/2 yr. old great granddaughter, Aurora, is having open heart surgery on the 14th of August. It should all be fone, it’s her 3rd since she was born but when they stop your heart for 5 hrs and have her on bypass, it’s still scary. We could use your prayers for the steady hands of the surgeons and healing prayers for Aurora.

  2. I loved reading your big news, congratulations! What a blessing that God’s plan has included something you two were praying for. I don’t know where you are now but I pray the move to Fort Worth goes great and y’all find your little slice of heaven in your new area.

  3. So, so excited for you guys!!! I’ll definitely be praying for y’all as you’re making some really huge decisions! God’s got ya and He’ll make it clear what you’re supposed to do! ❤

  4. You’ve got this! Moving will definitely open up new doors for you guys. It’s funny how everything never goes as planned!
