This year, I have challenged myself to be more intentional in every aspect of my life. One of those things is being intentional in noticing the true blessings in my life, being thankful, and owning a spirit of gratitude.
In my planner, the very last page of each month is labeled “Praise Report.” This is something I love and swear by. We do it at the end of each small group we have with our youth kids and it really helps bring things into perspective. It shows that no matter what we’re facing and going through, there is always something to be thankful for if we take the time to find it. So, I’m making this part of my routine to share with you guys and encourage you to come up with praise reports of your own!
This month was both the longest month and the shortest month all at the same time. Does anyone else feel like that? If I’m being honest, some months are harder to come up with praise reports than others. That’s why I’ve been forcing myself to come up with 10, regardless of if I had 10 to start with or not. I’m stretching my perspective of what a praise report is and reassessing how I choose what to be thankful for.
1 // I survived my first ever Race 2 Rescue 5K.
I promise you this was a HUGE accomplishment! I am not the strongest person and I was heavy lifting, painting, etc. My body hurt in places I never knew it could hurt, but the event was so much fun. I’m really glad I got to be a part of it as a staff member so I’ll be more prepared next year!
2 // God’s favor has been really evident this month.
I’ve been able to see God’s favor over my life, my job, things happening at my job, and other people’s lives. It’s been a time of reminding me that God is moving even when we fail to notice it. It’s been so refreshing to see God show up in ways I doubted or never imagined.
3 // I have been a little MIA from social media again this month.
I have a love/hate relationship with it. I love the much needed break and being forced to spend time off my phone. I hate that I haven’t been able to connect with all of you. I think I’m back into the groove of things and will be making more appearances here in the near future!
4 // EASTER!!!
He is Risen! I am so grateful for this truth and the freedom that came from Jesus’ death and resurrection! THE ULTIMATE PRAISE REPORT!
5 // Brad and I have been really intentional this month.
We have been intentional when it comes to our spending, our time together, and really investing in our marriage. More to come on all of this soon!
6 // We got to see our friends again this month and celebrate another birthday with them!
We really cherish those moments with our friends, full of laughter, honesty, and CAKE!
7 // I discovered Chick-fil-a’s frosted coffee.
Y’all, this beverage was one of the most delicious things I have ever tasted in my entire life. My life has been changed once again thanks to Chick-fil-a. Sadly, Brad and I are doing an interested challenge this month (I’ll be sharing it on my instagram story later today) so I can’t have one for a month. But when this month is over….GLORY HALLELUJAH!
8 // I have had a lot of days off (aka rest days)
I love how my job takes care of their employees. When we have long weeks, we get to take those hours off to recharge. I love that and I have SO needed it. I still haven’t quite adjusted yet, especially with the commute. I still feel like I’m constantly exhausted, but the rest days definitely help.
9 // This has been a season of transition for me, as well as so much people in my life.
I’m just grateful that God doesn’t call us to stay where we are, but we go through changes and transitions. I’m so glad we get to experience new from time to time instead of always being stuck in the old.
10 // Our youth group pledged to give $3,500 to mission between March and December.
HOW STINKIN’ COOL IS THAT?! I love our job and getting to pour into the lives of students. It so pays off to see God’s heart poured out into theirs!
Your turn! I want to hear some of your praise reports for March. What happened, what did you celebrate, what are you thankful for, what is God doing in your life, share it with me!
