This year, I have challenged myself to be more intentional in every aspect of my life. One of those things is being intentional in noticing the true blessings in my life, being thankful, and owning a spirit of gratitude.
In my planner, the very last page of each month is labeled “Praise Report.” This is something I love and swear by. We do it at the end of each small group we have with our youth kids and it really helps bring things into perspective. It shows that no matter what we’re facing and going through, there is always something to be thankful for if we take the time to find it. So, I’m making this part of my routine to share with you guys and encourage you to come up with praise reports of your own!
This month has been crazy jammed packed and I feel like it is over before it started. Granted, it is the shortest month so maybe that’s why? Who know’s, but there were some really exciting things that happened this month and I am pumped to share them with you.
February 2018 Praise Reports:
1 // I GOT A JOB!
This is by far the most exciting thing that happened this month AND this year! I am the Outreach Coordinator & Advocate at an anti-trafficking nonprofit called Rescue Her!
2 // I’ve gotten back into a routine, which is so important for me.
PRAISE THE LORD FOR THIS ONE! I was going crazy being stuck at home with no structure. I will be the worst stay-at-home mom ever lol.
3 // I asked God to challenge me more this year when it comes to prayer and now, as the Outreach Coordinator, I lead a prayer outreach team once a month.
4 // We started our small group back up with our youth students and it’s been really cool to see God speak to them directly.
5 // My family got over all that crazy sickness mess.
If you don’t follow me on Instagram, you may not be aware. But earlier this month, my mom had knee surgery, my uncle had the flu and fell and gashed his face open, my 90 year old grandparents had both the flu and pneumonia…ALL ON THE SAME DAY. My aunt and I were running around like crazy. As far as I know, all is well.
6 // Brad and I started our date night back up!
Getting back into our routine of weekly date nights has been a game changer for sure!
7 // I really enjoy the people I work with.
Our staff is extremely small and so not getting along with my co-workers would be miserable. I literally share a desk with one of them right now. Lucky for me, they are really amazing women of God. They are super open and transparent with me. They meet where I’m at, while still challenging me.
8 // Having an unplanned, unexpected break from social media.
This one is a weird praise report. I have been so overwhelmed, exhausted, and busy with my new job that blogging has been on the back burner a little bit these past couple weeks. I haven’t had the time to really sit down and plan stuff out. (I will ASAP I promise, give me grace throughout this adjustment period.) I’ve also been really MIA on social media, especially Instagram. Throughout my job search I feel like I spent all hour of the day scrolling social media, working on blog stuff, and being super-glued to my phone. It has been a really nice breath of fresh air to be less connected to my phone and more connected to people.
9 // I have adjusted to waking up early.
I am not a morning person, but I have yet to oversleep or run late for work. I’m honestly really proud of myself!
10 // I went on my first outreach with RescueHer and it was really awesome.
I was able to not only pray for motels, but meet the staff, interact with some guests, and most importantly, get a feel for what I’ll be doing! I am so excited about this job, but more specifically, this position. I feel like God has been preparing me for such a time as this and I’m so eager.
Overall, February was a really great month. As I mentioned earlier, I feel like it ended before it even started and I can’t believe March starts in just a few days. This year is flying by! It’ll be our one year anniversary before I know it!
Now it’s your turn! I want to hear your praise reports! What are some of the good things that happened for you this month?
